Two classic rock and soul bands, The Beach Boys and The Temptations, have joined together for the “Surf & Soul Tour.” The two bands will take to the Muskogee Civic Center stage on April 20th, 2017 at 7:30pm
For the first time ever the Beach Boys will bring their California vibe to Muskogee, OK. There is no doubt that there will be some Good Vibrations. To these guys, the beach isn’t just a place where the surf comes to play—it’s where life is renewed and made whole again. Their classics include “Surfin’ Safari,” “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” “Little Deuce coupe,” “California Girls,” “Good Vibrations,” “God Only Knows,” “I Get Around,” “Surfer Girl,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Fun, Fun, Fun” and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” among many others.
The Temptations were one of the essential components of the classic Motown sound of the 1960s with their smooth dance steps and soul classics such as “My Girl,” “Get Ready,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” “Cloud Nine,” “Since I Lost My Baby” and “The Way You Do the Things You Do.” No matter the change in personnel, The Temptations remained true to The Temptations tradition. They survived the whims of fashion, whether disco or techno, and stuck to their guns.
